It is quite rare in Japan that such an old building is still in use. I know it is not comfortable to be in such buildings. Because in most case, it is not well equipped, and sometimes you can find cracked wall and windows. However, I think it is important to remember our memories. I also think that sometimes we should spend weekend in such low-tech environment.
